The not so obvious question and the one that often gets lost in the midst of the more urgent questions is: what kind of person do we want to raise? The answer to that question came pretty easily. We want to raise a person (and a family) who will have a positive impact on the world. We wanted to change the world, and wanted our kids to grow up to be world changers too.
The tougher question is how do we do that? How can we, as a family, purposefully work toward changing the world for the better? The answer to that question came to us in the form of a family mission statement. As we talked about this cool new concept of a family mission statement, "Be The Blessing" was born.
It quickly became apparent that this new mission statement had potential far beyond our family. Friends started using it for themselves and with their families. Be The Blessing was catching on.
As momentum built behind Be The Blessing, the idea of an apparel company to promote a kinder world and to make a real difference came together.
We are committed to producing cool, fun clothes and accessories that remind people to be the blessing and to spread the word. As this catches on, we believe our world will become a better place, and people will become better people, and that is really the point.
Feel free to borrow it for yourself or your family. It really works, and you will have a blast looking for opportunities to be the blessing. It really is a lot of fun.
Blessings,
Chris & Kristy
One of
the goals of Be the Blessing is to fund projects and
organizations that are breaking the cycle of extreme
poverty around the world. 11% of our profits go to
these kinds of organizations. We work with or will be
working with groups that serve in the areas of clean
water, health care, mobility, micro-finance, local
sustainable agriculture and education. This year we
are working exclusively with The Free Wheelchair
Mission.
